Temperance tarot card meaning

Temperance upright

Temperance pours water steadily between two cups, mixing opposites into something new. This is a card of balance, moderation and patient progress. It appears when the middle way is the wisest: not too much, not too little. You may be blending different parts of your life, finding a healthy routine or bringing people together. Healing, both physical and emotional, is supported here. Temperance asks you to slow down, avoid extremes and trust that steady effort will get you where you want to be. Calm, consistent choices create lasting results.

Temperance reversed

Reversed, Temperance suggests that balance has slipped. You might be overdoing something, such as work, spending, food or drink, or swinging between extremes. Impatience could be pushing you to rush a process that needs time. There may also be clashing priorities pulling you in different directions, leaving you feeling unsettled. Look honestly at where life feels lopsided and make one small adjustment. Moderation is not boring; it is what lets you keep going without burning out. Find your centre again, and the rest will gradually fall into place.
